Conditions of Use

These terms apply when you create an account, place an order, or use the i-contacts website.

Using i-contacts

Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, placing an order, or using this website, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use our online services.

Providing accurate information

You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating an account and placing an order. It is your responsibility to keep your contact, delivery, billing, and prescription details current.

You must not create multiple accounts using false or misleading information. We may remove duplicate, fraudulent, or suspicious accounts.

Order acceptance and cancellation

Placing an order does not guarantee that we will be able to accept or supply it. We may cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:

  • Payment details appear fraudulent or cannot be verified
  • Required order, delivery, or prescription information is missing or incorrect
  • An item is unavailable or cannot be supplied
  • The website or ordering system has been misused
  • An obvious pricing or system error has occurred

If we cancel your order, we will notify you and refund any amount already paid for the cancelled items.

Contact lens prescriptions and safety

Valid prescription requirement

You should only order contact lenses that have been prescribed for you by a registered optometrist or other appropriately qualified eye-care professional.

You are responsible for ensuring that the brand, lens type, base curve, diameter, power, cylinder, axis, and other prescription details ordered match your current prescription.

If you would like us to check the details supplied, you can provide your optometrist’s name during checkout or reply to your order-confirmation email with a copy of your prescription.

Eye examinations and follow-up care

Contact lens wearers should attend eye examinations and contact lens check-ups at the intervals recommended by their optometrist. The appropriate interval may vary depending on your eyes, lenses, and medical history.

Safe use of contact lenses

Incorrect contact lens use, poor hygiene, overwear, or wearing lenses that have not been prescribed for you may damage your eyes or vision.

Follow the instructions provided by your optometrist and the contact lens manufacturer. If you experience pain, redness, unusual discomfort, light sensitivity, discharge, or reduced vision, remove the lenses and seek professional eye-care advice promptly.

Do not wear contact lenses if you suspect you have an eye infection.

Prices and payments

Prices

Prices shown on the website are in New Zealand dollars and include Goods and Services Tax where applicable. Prices, promotions, and availability may change without notice.

Obvious pricing or system errors

We take reasonable care to display accurate prices, but typographical, technical, or system errors may occur.

If a price is clearly incorrect, we may cancel the affected order or contact you before processing it. If payment has already been made, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled item.

This does not affect any rights you may have under New Zealand law.

Overseas payments and orders

Overseas orders are charged in New Zealand dollars. Your bank or card provider may charge foreign-exchange or international transaction fees.

You may also be responsible for import duties, taxes, customs fees, or other charges imposed in your country.

Refunds for overseas orders are processed in New Zealand dollars and normally exclude original shipping costs, exchange-rate differences, bank fees, import charges, and other third-party costs.

Some promotions, discounts, or i-points may not apply to international orders.

Shipping, cancellations and returns

Shipping and delivery

In-stock items are usually dispatched promptly. Items that are not held in stock may take longer, and estimated delivery times are shown on the relevant product pages where possible.

If an item becomes unavailable or is significantly delayed, we will contact you. You may cancel an affected item before dispatch.

Full information about delivery times, couriers, rural delivery, overseas delivery, and collection is available on our Shipping & Returns FAQ.

Returns and refunds

Unopened and unused contact lenses or solutions may be returned within 10 days of receipt, provided they remain in their original, undamaged packaging.

You are normally responsible for return courier costs unless the item is faulty or we supplied the wrong item.

Please contact us before returning an item.

Further information is available on our returns page.

Account suspension or closure
